Lots to look forward to in the New Year: Perpignan European Wine City 2019!

At Paris City Hall on October 12th, it was announced that Perpignan will be the first French city to be awarded the title of European Wine City Dionisio 2019, a recognition previously only granted to Spanish or Italian cities.

newsWinter_5Nowadays, cities are playing a pivotal role in the valorization of their regions, thus the importance of an interconnected communications approach around Perpignan and the wines of Roussillon, which will position Perpignan as a key actor on the global wine and gastronomy scene, recognized for its identity and excellence; a capital showing confidence in its products and enchanting visitors by providing them with the authentic Perpignan experience.

Through an experiential marketing approach, the CIVR will propose a range of events from March through December 2019 combining both B2B and B2C events and integrating initiatives both public and private. This strategy will allow a major increase in contacts with the public around either an event or a brand, as well as heightened international visibility. An intensively digital domestic and international communications plan will increase awareness of the wines of Roussillon. Business to business events will be implemented in synergy with complementary initiatives such as the Grenaches of the World Contest, the European Summit of the Bacchus Brotherhoods, the General Assembly of the National Council of Independent Winemakers of France, a study trip for sommeliers-educators, the Masters of Wine study trip, …
